The fans cheered, eager for the game to begin. Lainey looked around in awe, taking in the sight. Each player on the field gave her little signs of encouragement.
π
βYou got this girl!β said Kia the third baseman as she stretched her glove.
βNice and steady then let it rip!β said Flo on second base.
A thumbs up from Emmy on first.
Lainey took another deep breath, composing herself before she looked up at the batter. Ready. Set. Go.
βLetβs play ball,β yelled the ump.
She wound up and let the ball fly. It was a strike, right down the middle.
The crowd went wild and Lainey smiled, overcome with joy and gratitude.
π
βNow you can check that off your bucket list,β teased Llama-nama, βnice pitch too!β
