Halloween Horrors!

Hope your Halloween is BOO-tacular!

It was the beginning of September when (obviously!) I started dreaming about what Ailish’s very first Halloween costume would be. By the end of September, I had landed on “the what.” And with a little help from my friends, we figured out how Aaron and I could compliment her costume. It was perfect. She was going to be the cutest raccoon between two trash cans (Aaron & I) that the world has ever seen. 

Only for some reason, I didn’t order the costume. Fast-forward 7-weeks, my perfect idea was OUT OF STOCK!

...and I get this looming feel that this is just the beginning of seeing those words constantly.

I don’t know why I didn’t order it right away.  Did I really think I had plenty of time? Maybe I thought to figure it out was the hard part. NEVER did I think an infant raccoon costume would be “out of stock.” Amateur move, Sara. AMATEUR! And who the hell are these other moms that had THE SAME EXACT idea that I had? Who? Who are you? Where are you? Were you going to be a trash can too? 

So, what now? Back to the drawing board with only days to go until Halloween. I hear the clock ticking like the Crocodile hunting Captain Hook. With doing all the fun dress-up pictures of Ailish every week, I’ve put this stupid pressure on myself that I HAVE to make her First Halloween Costume not just amazing, but SPECTACULAR!  

Halloween has always been one of those holidays that I love and get so excited for as soon as October is in sight. I love all the “fall” crap everybody else loves. I love my pumpkin candles and burn them like the house is on fire. I love watching the non-scary scary kids movies on Freeform (formally ABCFamily). I love eating everything pumpkin flavored, as long as it's carbs. I LOVE the candy! … but I can never seem to get my act together to figure out a costume. I’m always rushing around last minute or trying to piece together something from my closet and/or from Halloweens of old. 

And this year is no different. I need your help! Any (awesome, yet easy) suggestions on what Ailish should be for Halloween? I think I can give up on spectacular and will settle for adorable.
